Dalton is not one of the most adventurous children I know. He doesn't like to try new foods and sometimes won't try new activities unless he's in just the right mood. Lately these things have been changing though. Last weekend he tried a new kind of jelly I was eating (homemade by my mother-in-law...yum) and then turned around later and tried salsa. At dinner time he tried ...

About 6 weeks ago, we were at our wit's end with Dalton. He was having repeated bad days at school. During circle time, he was touching other kids, playing with toys, and even being told he needed to leave the room. So we told D that if he had 3 good days in a row at school, he could go on an adventure. He gets to pick the activity AND who attends the adventure with him.&nb...

Have you ever had one of those "not enjoying being a parent nights"? Last night was one of those for our household. Of course, I'm not sure Dalton was enjoying being part of the family last night either. Add in the fact that Cole is hardcore teething, and it was rough in our house. Dalton is having issues with potty training still. How many accidents a week or month c...

Well, yesterday we had an unexpected surprise -- wait, wouldn't all surprises be unexpected? One would think so, but maybe one would be wrong. Anyways, back to the surprise. We had a squirrel try to live in the electrical transformer at the back of our house --literally in the backyard. Note to squirrels everywhere: Do not try to enter transformers. It will not end we...

Sometimes humming can be a good thing. Hummingbirds make a nice rhythmic humming noise. Fans make a humming noise that comforts me. There are even white noise machines designed JUST to make humming noises. Want to know one humming noise that drives me crazy? Mindless human humming. Specifically when Dalton does it. He does this a lot. While playing, he will hum....

I once had a good friend tell me that our kids would be full of personality. "How could they not with you and Larry as parents? You two ooze personality." I guess if I have to ooze something, it should be personality. Ha, I crack myself up.Anyways, on with the Dalton-isms. This kid definitely has personality.Tidbit #1: "Mom, we have a situation here." He had "accident...

Since that last post was so long with our weekend stuff, I thought I'd give you some short updates...bullet style.Colton is trying to roll over. He's 3.5 months. I'm trying to remember if this is the right age for him to roll back to front, but am resisting looking it up. I hate looking up one thing to see if it's "normal" then finding out he hasn't done 3 things he 'should' have...

This truck is one of the true loves of Larry's life. He has been waiting to drive this truck -- pretty much since he was born. He's had other vehicles in his life that he really liked. There was the Camaro (I hear a lot about that car), the Fiero, the Bronco...but none of them have received such rave reviews. Larry's favorite activity in his truck is to "eat" small sports c...

You may think this is going to be about a slinky blouse or funny bunny boxers my husband wears (he really doesn't)...but in our house pink silk means my son's milk. He drinks soy milk instead of dairy milk for a number of reasons. Dalton didn't start talking at the normal age. At over two years of age he was barely even babbling and preferred to use sign language. I had rea...
